Year 3&4 Traditional Sports Day

We had two sessions running for our year 3&4 traditional sports day.  The morning was soggy but not too wet but the afternoon was a bit grim weatherwise!  However all of the children (and the teachers and parents that supported them)  showed determination and positivity throughout the events.   They took part in a range of activities including standing long jump, sack race, three legged race, howler throws and tug of war.  Instead of winning points for winning or loosing the athletes were scored on their determination.  The overall winning team that gained the most determination points were St Joseph’s Hurst Green  from the morning session and Huncoat Primary for the afternoon.  Well done to the leaders from Accrington Academy who kept a smile on their faces throughout the rain!
