U16 Boy's Badminton

Badminton was back as we hosted the Boys u16 competition at Hyndburn Leisure centre. 12 teams entered from 7 of our Partnership Secondary schools which was a great turnout. The group stages were exciting and early favourites emerged with some clinical performances from St Christophers and Bowland, who looked to be on a collision course for the final.

The standard was extremely high as the districts best players battled it out in both singles and doubles matches. CRGS A unfortunately had to knock out their own B team in the quarter final stage and set up a close semi final with Bowland. St Christophers, nearly flawless throughout were the deserved overall winners but credit to Bowland for a great performance and the rest of the schools who provided some memorable action.

We look forward to the u16 girls getting their turn next week on 18th November!
