Year 6 Fun Football

10 of our Hyndburn and Ribble Valley Partnership schools joined us at the Edisford Sports Complex for a fun football event which had a theme of teamwork and respect. There was a carousel of different drills which focused on key skills. Each school completed all 6 drills and scored points for successful passes, goals, dribbles and kickups which was great practice for the friendly games they played later. Congratulations to St Mary's Langho and Gisburn who scored the most points and rewarded with some colourful medals for their efforts.

Each school played three or four 7 a side matches which was a great experience and we enjoyed seeing some schools who don't traditionally play against eachother compete on the lovely playing surface. Team and individual awards were rewarded out for displays of teamwork and respect and it was fantastic that our Sports Leaders from Ribblesdale noticed so many examples of these values. There was too much action to to write about across the 18 games played but a particularly heroic piece of defending from St Joseph's Hurst Green that was celebrated like a goal was a highlight!
