Hyndburn Kurling

11 teams came together to take part in the Hyndburn Academy KS1 kurling event.  Teams of 4 year 1 or year 2 children – for many the first time they had ever represented the school in an event came together in two groups to play kurling.

Kurling is a game that involves “Throwing” a stone onto a target.  The team with their target closest to the centre at the end of the game is the winner.

All teams played extremely well but at the end of the group stages it was St Barts A. St Huberts A, Spring Hill B and Spring Hill A that qualified for the knockout rounds.

St Barts A beat Spring Hill A and St Huberts A beat Spring Hill B which meant that St Barts and St Huberts met in the final with an all Spring Hill 3rd place playoff.

In the end St Barts proved too strong for St Huberts and took first place with St Huberts A in second and Spring Hill in 3rd.  Special thanks must go to Hyndburn Academy sports leaders for helping to run the event.
